TECHNOLOGY

Human spark.
Digital soul.

Hybrid workflows combine 3D CGI, keyframe animation, VFX and Video AI to bring cartoon stories to screen. Artists lead the design, timing and performance; motion capture is an optional supporting tool.

TECHNOLOGY IN SERVICE OF THE STORY

AI. 3D. VFX.
One creative production.

A cartoon film, series or game needs a connected workflow. We combine 3D CGI and keyframe animation with VFX and Video AI where appropriate. Artists develop the cast and environments, direct each performance and finish the shots through lighting, effects and compositing. Human review keeps the style, continuity and story consistent.

01 / ANIMATION & OPTIONAL CAPTURE

The pose.
The personality.

Keyframe animation gives cartoon characters their deliberate poses, expressive timing and distinctive movement. Motion capture can support selected performances when useful; animators adapt and refine it rather than letting it define the style.

02 / DIGITAL CHARACTER CREATION

Designed to connect.
Built to perform.

Shape, expression and movement give a virtual character its personality. We develop the model, materials and rig around the story and the platform, from rendered films to interactive experiences.

Scanning can support a brief when real-world reference is needed. The final character is shaped by artistic direction, animation and the intended audience.

03 / VIRTUAL CHARACTERS

Expression with
a purpose.

Character design and rigging can support communication as well as entertainment. Expressive cartoon faces, poses and gestures can be connected to interactive systems for apps, games and conversational experiences. The character’s design and animated responses are shaped around the audience and intended interaction.

04 / VIRTUAL REALITY

Step into
the story.

Immersive environments let audiences meet characters in a shared 3D space. We connect the character’s design with the interaction and technical needs of that environment.

05 / VISUAL EFFECTS

A world
without limits.

Hybrid workflows bring 3D CGI, VFX and Video AI together under one creative direction. Effects and compositing connect cartoon characters and environments in finished shots, with artists checking the agreed style and continuity.

BEFORE WE ROLL

Studio answers.

A few useful answers before your character’s first scene.

How do AI, 3D animation and VFX work together?

Our hybrid workflows combine 3D CGI, keyframe animation and VFX with Video AI where it serves the brief. Artists direct the visual development, character performance and compositing, checking every shot for style, continuity and story.

What is photogrammetry?

Photogrammetry uses photographs taken from multiple viewpoints to reconstruct a subject in 3D. The resulting scan can support digital character and asset creation.

Does motion capture replace an animator?

Keyframe animation leads most cartoon performances. Motion capture can provide useful movement reference for selected shots, but artists adapt the poses, proportions and timing to the character rather than replacing animation craft.

What are AI cartoon characters?

AI cartoon characters combine a designed digital character with interactive systems. The experience may include conversation and character animation, depending on the project’s intended use.

Can cartoon characters be used in VR?

Yes. Characters can be prepared for immersive experiences where people interact with a 3D world. Asset complexity, performance and interaction design need to suit the target platform.
